Credit card company American Express, launched inSite on Wednesday, a new service which will make it easier for its cardholders to hunt for deals, save money on bills, and avoid debts.
Consumers can download the program, which serves as a companion to online shoppers, pointing out deals on brands such as Banana Republic, Barnes and Noble and Crate and Barrel.
“InSite is unique in the marketplace because it eliminates the hassle of looking for specials or visiting offer pages to find deals before shopping online,” Elizabeth Skinner, vice president of marketing at American Express, told Direct Marketing News. “Instead, it serves them up automatically to card members as they shop online on both search results and retailer sites.”
American Express timed the unveiling in order to help consumers save money on credit card purchases made during the upcoming holiday shopping season, the news source says.
The announcement follows similar offerings by credit card companies like Visa’s Rightcliq, and MasterCard’s MarketPlace. More discount sites for card members are set to follow this year, as Discover hopes to have a similar application up and running soon.
