Can Mold Cause Debt? It Did for This Couple

Christina and Bob Stimson live in the Phoenix area of Arizona. About half the state is desert, so it doesn’t seem like the kind of place where mold would grow very well. But it did in the Stimson’s home.

“We had mold, mycotoxins, illness,” Bob recalls. Mycotoxins are harmful airborne substances that certain molds release. You can get them on your skin or even inhale them. When that happens, they can cause all kinds of health problems – including liver damage and cancer.

Bob had to seek medical care. Even worse, when he and Christina moved, there was mold in their new rental place. And the one after that. And the one after that.

“We had to move four different residences within a year, and it was extremely costly,” Bob says. “The medical treatment, too. Just everything.”

Bob adds, “It was very tough for me. I didn’t know if I was going to live or die.”

Calling Consolidated Credit

Bob recovered. His finances didn’t. He had $28,000 in credit card debt. So he did his research and knew just who to call: “Your company, since 1993, has helped millions of people. And behind all of these millions are other stories. That speaks to the over 300 hours of courses the counselors have to take. And your A-plus rating and better Business bureau is wonderful.”

So Bob expected “the lowered interest rates” and “one predictable monthly payment.” But even with all his research, he was still surprised by something he didn’t expect.

“The outstanding customer service is so rare these days,” he says. “The person who picks up the phone can help you. It’s not like you’ve got to be transferred to 50 different people.”

It’s not just their availability, it’s their ability

“They’re knowledgeable,” Bob says. “They’re experienced coached, and they’re courteous and they want to help you. You can just hear that every time you call. So, I can’t say enough good things. So I would definitely tell anybody: Consolidated Credit is who you need to call.”
