Consolidated Credit Hosts Inaugural National Financial Literacy Month Breakfast and Receives a Proclamation from Florida Senator Maria Sachs

Community leaders, educators and bankers came together to focus on the importance of promoting financial literacy at Consolidated Credit’s first National Financial Literacy Month breakfast. Consolidated Credit was honored to receive a Proclamation from the office of Florida’s Senator Maria Sachs.

The Florida state government understands the importance of financial literacy and they wished to recognize Consolidated Credit for the consistent and comprehensive efforts promoting financial literacy education. A representative of Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Atwater, was also there to support Consolidated Credit’s efforts to promote financial literacy within the state.

“We’re honored to receive this proclamation from the state government,” says Gary Herman, President of Consolidated Credit. “Not only does it recognize the hard work and dedication of our community outreach and education team, but it also serves as confirmation that the state places a high level of importance on educating its citizens, something that’s essential for people in today’s complex financial environment.”

Consolidated Credit sponsors and partners were in attendance, including representatives from: Bank United, Chase, BB&T, Wells Fargo, Comerica Bank, the United Way of Broward County, and Broward 2-1-1. Representatives of Southern Command, Army OneSource, and the U.S. Department of Defense were on hand in honor of Consolidated Credit’s partnerships that provide financial literacy education to military service members, veterans, and their families in the South Florida area.

“Many organizations and agencies have an interest and an active hand in financial literacy education in the state,” Herman acknowledges, “but it’s rare that all of those organizations have the opportunity to come together in one room to discuss this important issue. We hope this breakfast will provide a place where we can all get together annually to celebrate our success while planning for the future.”

National Financial Literacy Month continues throughout the month of April. Consolidated Credit has created a Free Financial Literacy Resource Center on its website that provides users with a range of useful financial tools and education resources they can use to get on a path to establishing long-term financial stability. The company has also established a Financial Literacy Hotline manned by certified credit counselors that consumers nationwide can use if they have specific questions or challenges. The number to call is 1-888-696-9292.
