Certified Credit Counseling with a Focus on Financial Education
Since 1993, Consolidated Credit has helped over 10.2 million people find relief from credit card debt to achieve real financial stability
Credit card debt problems are running rampant in the U.S. today. Americans owe more than $1.166 trillion, and we keep adding more every year. The truth is that most people aren’t taking on debt because they’re irresponsible. Most credit card debt comes from challenges like lack of income, emergency expenses, and out-of-pocket medical bills.
That’s why we believe that solving people’s debt challenges requires more than just a program that can help them become debt-free. True financial stability takes education and application, and that’s what we help our customers do. Consolidated Credit is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit credit counseling agencies and we’ve spent over a quarter of a century helping people find financial freedom.
Consolidated Credit’s mission: To assist families throughout the United States to end financial crises and solve money management issues through education and professional counseling.
“Without financial education, financial stability is just a dream,”
Gary Herman, President of consolidated credit

Celebrating Consolidated Credit’s Commitment to Empower Communities
Consolidated Credit proudly celebrates a milestone moment dedicated to empowering communities, honoring our sponsors, and highlighting the achievements of the past year.
From South Florida to communities across the nation, Consolidated Credit is on a mission to provide the tools and support people need to achieve financial stability. Whether it’s first-time home buyers, seniors, veterans, or entrepreneurs, we’re there every step of the way, offering guidance, education, and empowerment.
Owning a home is one of life’s biggest milestones, and we’ve helped make it a reality for many. Through partnerships with organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Broward County and the City of Plantation, we offered personalized guidance for first-time home buyers covering budgeting, credit management, and the home buying process. “I was delighted when I found out about Consolidated Credit for several reasons. You know, you have the relationships built with companies to where you, you know, they are, they are apparently very willing to work with you.”
For seniors facing rising living costs, our certified counselors conducted record numbers of reverse mortgage counseling sessions, helping retirees stay secure in their homes. At the heart of what we do is financial education. Last year, we hosted over 240 workshops and webinars, reaching more than 7,000 participants. From understanding your money mindset to protecting against fraud and identity theft, our sessions delivered practical knowledge that empowers people to take control of their finances. “The team helped me to be financially responsible with my credit cards, with my budgeting for the month. Um, they made me do it realistically with everything that I had, with my salary, with what I had working with. They did it in monthly meetings and they were able to do it in digestible bites that I could understand and that I could work with.”
And it doesn’t stop there. We worked closely with organizations like Hispanic Unity of Florida and the Mexican Consulate to offer bilingual workshops, ensuring language wasn’t a barrier to financial empowerment. For Afghan refugees resettling in the US, we partnered with Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services to help them navigate new financial systems. Survivors of domestic violence also gained financial knowledge through our collaboration with Women in Distress.
We’re proud to stand with those who serve. With partners like Mission United, US Army Southern Command, and Pines’s Recovery Life, we provided veterans and military families with financial resources and tailored workshops, ensuring they had the tools to manage their finances during challenging times. We teamed up with organizations like Jack and Jill’s Children’s Center and Florida International University to offer workshops on rental rights, budgeting, and savings strategies. Employees and students alike gained practical insights into managing their money, with over 2,000 people attending our sessions at the FIU employee annual fair.
Financial empowerment also means supporting the dreamers and doers: the small business owners who drive our communities forward. During National Entrepreneurship Week and Hispanic Heritage Month, we partnered with Brandywine Cares and the Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency for the Business Sense Boot Camp. From business planning to credit management, we gave small business owners the tools they need to grow.
At Consolidated Credit, we believe that financial education has the power to change lives. “Whatever financial types of resources you can find, it all there at Consolidated Credit and at the end of the day, we were like, ‘Okay, this is what it’s supposed to be.’ I had to pinch myself, ‘Are y’all real?’ I appreciate you. I really appreciate y’all guys.”
With the support of our partners, we’ve offered knowledge, guidance, and hope, but we’re not stopping there. As we move forward, we’re committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact, ensuring even more people have the tools to achieve financial stability and peace of mind.
