Chrysler announces new rewards credit card

Many consumers prefer to earn rewards points when they deal with credit card debt. Now one of the nation’s leading auto manufacturers has launched such an account for those who spend a lot of money on their vehicles.

Chrysler Group recently partnered with First National Bank of Omaha and MasterCard to offer a new rewards credit card that grants consumers significant points for using their accounts at certain locations. For every dollar spent at a Chrysler dealership on parts, service or even vehicles, cardholders will earn three rewards points. They will also earn two points per dollar for travel purchases and one point on all other transactions.

These points can be redeemed for everything from merchandise and gift cards to cash off on vehicle purchases.

“This co-branded card provides drivers another way to demonstrate their affinity for the brand while earning valuable rewards at their dealer and the millions of locations worldwide where MasterCard is accepted,” said Craig Vosburg, group executive for market development in U.S. markets at MasterCard Worldwide.

Consumers should also be aware that rewards credit cards typically carry higher rates and annual fees as a means of covering the cost of granting points.
